The Maiden's Garland. It was a tradition that when a young unmarried woman died, then a "garland was made and carried in her funeral procession. This, one of four carried at the funeral at Trusley of a Miss Webster in the 18th century has its crown made of wicker and lath, covered in paper, and embellished with paper roses with paper gloves suspended inside. This rare survivor was restored, conserved and provided with a new case by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
